For companies that cannot eliminate hazardous materials and equipment from their operation, limiting hazardous area access to properly trained personnel can help reduce the risk of accidental injury. Launched earlier this year, Alusetts Key Manager system can play a major part in supporting such safety systems.

Each location on the Key Manager board has a retaining position and an access position. Each key is secured on the key panel by a tamper-evident retainer. This retainer and the keys secured on it can only be removed by applying an access fob to the adjacent access position.

Authorisation to remove a key is endorsed by the allocation of a sequentially numbered access fob. While the retainer is absent, the access fob cannot be removed from its place on the key panel, so identifying the keyholder.
