Wheelie careful lifting solution April 1st 2006 Every Rolls-Royce Phantom is hand-built at the company's Goodwood manufacturing plant. Even wheels are carefully lifted, positioned and bolted on by hand.
But hand-built doesn't necessarily imply hard labour. Working with the engineers at Goodwood, Dorset-based Packline has developed a custom-built lifting/positioning solution for the legendary car manufacturer. The product lifts the wheels and also positions them for increased speed and accuracy when bolting them to the hub.
Packline's relationship with the BMW-owned marque extends to assembly planning with another unique lifting application. A harness lifter was developed to allow the manoeuvre and positioning of special kit bags containing the Phantom's electrical system, without damaging bodywork. More articles from Packline Limited: |
