Self-retracting safety knife June 1st 2006 The new Self Retractable Safety Knife and Bi-Metal Blue Safety Blade from Irwin have been developed to reduced accidents in the workplace.
The Self Retractable Safety Knife incorporates a spring safety shuttle, which returns the blade inside the knife after each cutting action to minimise risk of injury. It also means the knife can be safely carried around.
A magnetic blade retainer ensures the blade and other components do not fall out of the knife during changeover. The lightweight aluminium body has been designed with both ergonomics and durability in mind.
There are two settings - full blade extension for general cutting, and a box cutter setting for applications where minimal blade penetration is required.
For further safety, the knife should be used with Irwin's Bi-Metal Blue Safety Blade. The Bi-Metal technology combines the best elements of two metals, spring steel and high speed steel, electro-welded together to provide a shatter proof blade and superior performance.
The snub nose on the blade is a further safety benefit, reducing the risk of accidental puncture wounds.
The high speed steel edge ensures the blade will cut the toughest material. |
