Low cost upright protection
February 1st 2008 The costs of damaged racking in both monetary terms and Health & Safety risks are some one of the most easily preventable costs within warehousing operations.
The fundamental principle for warehousing operators should be 'prevention rather than cure'. Visitors to Health & safety 08 will be able to see the newly designed Wrap-Around-Combo protector from RPM, which combines the best features of a floor fixed steel column guard with the remarkable resilience of the synthetic rubber RackDefender.
Traditional steel protectors for uprights are designed to take impact from the pallet or fork lift truck and such impacts puts stress on the floor fixings often loosening them or pulling them out. The column guard is then rendered ineffective or even worse, can act as an axe-like force on the upright, increasing the risk of expensive repairs or replacements. In addition, large holes can be left in the floor with the guard merely leaning up against the upright.
The Wrap-Around -Combo provides the strength of steel with the energy absorbing capacity of the synthetic rubber and is now available for all grades pallet racking from Link 51.
