The Health and Safety Commission says falling from height remains the single biggest cause of workplace deaths, with 50 to 60 victims each year.

The Endurance luminaire from Chalmor is a fit-and-forget maintenance-free lighting system that obviates the need for frequent lamp changing by workers on ladders or scaffolding. With a working life of 60,000hr, even at 10hr use a day, it would still be 20 years before it would need replacing.

The energy-efficient system produces a consistent 150W white, bright light with no colour shift. It strikes instantly will full power being achieved within 60sec. Re-striking is also immediate, even at full running temperature. Installation is described as simple.
