Comfortable depalletising February 1st 2005 In the packaging industry there are a number of repetitive tasks that can often cause injury. Kosme Packaging says it has a range of machinery – such as its depalletising systems – to help avoid worker discomfort.
According to the H&SE, over a third of all ‘overthree- day’ injuries reported each year are caused by manual handling.
While legislation may be drafted in coming years to combat this situation, bottle handling plants, says Kosme, already have a choice, with its Eurodepack, Combidepal and Ecodepal depalletising machines.
The double-column Eurodepack, for example, uses a pushing system to remove bottle products layer by layer from the pallet and transfer them using a sliding bench system. It is suitable for small to medium batchwork in the range of 1,000 to 6,000 bottles per hour.
Alternatively, the Ecodepal takes the entire top layer of bottled products from the pallet, lifts them upwards before traversing to place them on output conveyor systems located in line with the machine or at 90°.
Classified as a manual machine, Kosme’s Combidepal’s electrically driven load lifting, traversing and lowering actions are under full operator control, making it suitable for companies running small but frequent batches. More articles from Kosme UK Ltd: |
