Reduce micro-traumatic shock injuries
February 1st 2004

Specialist safety footwear manufacturer, Jallatte, believes a significant proportion of injuries in the transport and distribution sector that result in musculoskeletal problems are the result of a build-up of micro-traumatic shock injuries.

According to the company, micro-traumatic shock injuries result from a lack of adequate shock absorption levels in safety footwear, allowing mini shock waves to impact on muscles, joints and tendons.

For many the damage will already have been done as a result of wearing safety footwear that was unable to provide adequate levels of shock absorption, said Paul Hamer of Jallatte. However, by ensuring that the safety footwear issued today provides a shock absorber system, the potential for problems to build up in the future can be significantly reduced.
