One more moving floor February 1st 2005 Swedish solid waste firm, Sysav, has taken delivery of a second Joloda International moving floor system.
Part of Sysav’s service is to collect hazardous waste from the Scania region’s hospitals, clinics and pharmaceutical industry – which requires special packaging, transport containers and road vehicles.
This service is carried out using a Joloda demountable body and moving floor system which allows the hazardous waste, in the form of sealed, heavy duty cartons weighing up to 300kgs, to be safely and efficiently collected and taken to Sysav’s incinerator plant. Here the waste is offloaded from the vehicle’s moving floor system and conveyed directly to the incinerator – enabling minimal contact with the waste product.
Joloda tailor each system they manufacture according to the specific needs of the customer. The Sysav system consists of a demountable body mounted onto a 7.45m Legab frame fitted into which is a double-deck moving floor system. Each floor is fitted with two independently driven, 180° aluminium slatted floors – which allow both sides of the conveyor belt to be loaded individually or at the same time. Aluminium is used to prevent rust and add strength. In addition, the top floor can be raised and lowered by means of hydraulic rams which are built into the body – thus allowing loading flexibility so that at some hospitals the cartons can be loaded directly onto the slatted system.
Loading of the cartons is by means of a 1,000kg capacity column lift which is tucked away behind the body’s barn doors for transit.
The complete system is dc powered by two 24v batteries charged via alternator or overnight. More articles from Joloda International: |
