Sweet solution August 1st 2007 CKF Systems has installed a
replacement case conveying
system for Cadbury Trebor
Bassett at its site in
Bournville. The system is
located at the interface
between the main
production floor and the
central automated palletising
operation. The system
comprises of two twin lane
spiral de-elevators complete
with associated interfacing
conveyors - operating at
speeds of up to 50m/min -
and integral control system.
Due to the confined space,
general access and short
installation window, the site
survey and installation plan
demanded tight accuracy.
All equipment is of a
stainless steel construction
and of modular design to
optimise delivery through
restricted access apertures
and incorporates autolubrication,
full guarding and
profiled guides. The
associated control system
consists of a central control
panel housing with motor
controls and emergency
circuits, linked to an existing
PLC via controlnet. The
control system encompassed
monitoring of the individual
case flows, interfacing with
the auto-palletising
operation, control of fire
doors between rooms/floors
and initiation of relevant
signals to arrest or release
the individual lanes of cases |
