Off-the-shelf linear motion
August 1st 2007

Manufacturers can now make substantial savings on conveyor belt cleaning thanks to Keith Handy Design. The company's mobile Jet System, aimed primarily at the food processing sector automates the task and enables mesh belt conveyors of different sizes to be served by a single unit. The company says this makes it cost-effective even for smaller manufacturers.

Both structural support and linear movement of the steam generation head is provided by a HepcoMotion PDU2 Profile Driven Unit.

The robust unit combines proven belt technology, advanced materials engineering and Hepco's aluminium profile design nous. It combines a slotted profile into which fits a belt drive and carriage. This arrangement effectively seals the unit and creates a clean profile – which is what attracted Keith handy when designing the Jet System.

"I expected to design the linear system myself but PDU2 fits the bill perfectly and is available off-theshelf," Handy explains. "It's neat, lightweight, compact and allows the span of movement to be adjusted within a smooth profile." Call the number below for further information.
